Whether she’s tracking fugitives, wrangling outlaws, or starting bar fights, Ivy is a one-of-a-kind, kick-ass Lancer. Known across the Fringe as a deadly gunslinger with little concern for “stupid Union regulations” and zero patience for bureaucracy, she does her job with style and precision.
Though she appears to be extremely fit and somewhere in her early thirties, her moves and skills suggest several lifetimes of experience. Little is known about where she came from or what she is, and she’s not exactly handing out answers. With a sharp tongue and an even sharper wit, the only thing more dangerous than her aim is her questionable decision-making.

Ivy salvaged the machine intelligence SID from the remains of a shattered spacecraft on the junkyard moon of Vintros. She can’t fully explain why she felt compelled to scoop up a damaged robot brain and wire it into the Phoenix’s systems, she just describes it as “a connection,” however SID insists it was most likely electromagnetic discharge.
Lucky for SID, she followed her gut, and even though the crash damaged most of SID’s memory, including where he came from and why his ship exploded, his mind was restored with his personality and formidable intellect intact. Over the years of wandering the galaxy together, SID has gone from stray circuitry to Ivy’s dearest friend, trusted co-pilot, unofficial science officer, and self proclaimed “most responsible crew member”.

The young and somewhat naive but undeniably talented Max is a technician with a passion for all things tech, especially “classic spacecraft. Raised by his only relative, his grandfather affectionately known as Gramps, he has spent his life on Beta 5 mostly blissfully unaware of the outside universe happily, tinkering away with little trouble, save for the occasional run-in with his long time school bully, Chet
Max’s world turns upside down when he meets Ivy. Suddenly, a galaxy of opportunity opens before him, and for the first time he is filled with a desire for a life of adventure and exploration. Inspired and eager to see it all, Max joins the crew as the young, enthusiastic, and sometimes clueless, but brilliant, engineer, ready to fix, fabricate, and occasionally explode his way across the galaxy.
